This month, City of New Orleans contractor Hard Rock Construction, LLC completed roadway and curb work on Canal Boulevard as part of the Lakeview South Group A project. Crews are currently replacing the concrete roadway on Louisville Street (between Polk and French streets).
In addition to the roadway improvements, new catch basin castings (grates at the inlet of the catch basin) have been added to the scope of work on Louisville Street. These new castings will provide further protection against obstruction of the drainage system.
The $5.9M Patch, Mill, Overlay and Incidental Road Repair project was designed by Richard C. Lambert Consultants, LLC.
The scope of work varies by block, but includes the following:
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replacing them with new, smooth concrete pavement; and
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replacing them with new, smooth pavement.
The project is currently 14 percent complete. Details of the construction sequencing and timeline were first made available at the pre-construction public meeting. View a copy of the public meeting presentation and details about construction sequencing here.
