Durr Heavy Construction, LLC crews have completed 33 percent of the Westbank Group A project scope in the Whitney neighborhood. Crews have finished removing damaged concrete panels as part of this project. Asphalt paving work is also underway on LeBeouf, Thayer and Atlantic streets. Asphalt re-paving work will continue this month while concrete crews are removing frames on newly installed Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps and sidewalks.
Construction crews will continue to the Algiers Point and McDonough neighborhoods to perform similar scopes of work.
The Westbank Group A project is the first of two planned, FEMA-funded construction projects on the Westbank of New Orleans. This first project was designed by Richard C. Lambert Consultants, LLC and includes approximately $3.7M in construction work throughout the Westbank. The construction value is expected to increase this month as the project team addresses constructability issues.
