The $10.6M Village De L’Est Group C project broke ground in January 2020 and continues to make significant progress improving infrastructure in the Village De L’Est neighborhood despite days lost to high water levels in the lagoon. The project has currently worked to return to normal operations following the severe weather events of Hurricane Ida. This full-depth reconstruction project was designed by Hartman Engineering, Inc. and is being constructed by Durr Heavy Construction, LLC. Current focus of work remains on North Nemours Street with installation of waterline and sewer line replacements. The contractor moves toward project completion, which is expected in late fall 2021.

Durr Heavy Construction resumed work on the Village De L’est Group C project after another brief pause due to work being performed by Entergy Gas. Crews are working on North Nemours Street and will remain in that area until early June. The contractor wrapped up the final punch list items this month on the $7.3M Village De L’Est Group B project and it has been declared substantially complete.  The project started in July 2019, and the presentation from the June 2019 public meeting is available here.
