The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works' contractor Boh Bros Construction Co. LLC has temporarily closed the 6000 block of Freret Street (Palmer Avenue to State Street) for approximately five weeks in order to complete waterline installations and paving as a part of the FEMA-funded Audubon Group A project. Public safety is our priority; lane closure signs are in place and residents/commuters are reminded to use caution when driving, bicycling and walking near the construction site.

Today, the City of New Orleans, Department of Public Works announced a temporary workday closure of the intersection of Conti and Chartres streets beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 5 weather permitting through 6 p.m. on Friday, April 9 to accommodate Entergy Electric utility upgrades. Public safety is our priority; signage and a police detail will be in place to allow local traffic onto Conti Street between Chartres and Decatur streets. The intersection will reopen to traffic each day at 6 p.m.

The safety and health of our contract workers is of the utmost importance as we continue with infrastructure projects across the city. We are encouraging our contractors to implement the below guidelines consistent with CDC recommendations at jobsites throughout the City.

Beginning on Monday, April 5, 2021 weather permitting, the City of New Orleans, Department of Public Works contractor, Hard Rock Construction, LLC, will close the 900 block of Burdette Street and the intersection of Burdette and Freret streets to vehicular traffic for approximately four weeks to accommodate construction.
