Beginning tonight through Saturday, July 3, weather permitting, the left lane on the Uptown side of St. Charles Avenue between Philip and First streets will be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. to accommodate work being done by AT&T.

The Cantrell Administration is working with the existing pump capacity by building additional storage around the city utilizing parks, vacant land, and innovative streetscaping to create temporary storage to hold rain during those big events while the pumps catch up.  This approach, combined with efficiencies to the pump system to get the most capacity of the pumps and reliably provide power to the system, as well as our ongoing effort to keep litter out of the drainage system, is our immediate priority to get the most out of the existing system.
 

Beverly Construction, LLC crews began operations on the Little Woods Group B and Little Woods Group C Full-Depth Reconstruction projects in May. Crews are currently performing underground utility work on Avalon Way at Heritage Drive and Tilbury Road and Forum Boulevard. Utility operations include sewer line, waterline, and drainage line replacements. Underground utility replacement operations will last several months.  

Palmisano Construction crews continued paving operations on the Read Boulevard West Group C project in this month.  In addition to paving, crews will also focus on waterline work through the end of spring.  The project is on course for completion in fall 2021. 

Through close collaboration with the Department of Public Works (DPW) and the Louisiana Department of­­­ Transportation (LADOTD), Command Construction Industries crews began planning for work along Downman Road as part of the $6.4M Viavant-Lake Catherine Group C project.
