HAGAN-LAFITTE CONTINUES WITH STREET PAVING, CURB INSTALLATION

The Hagan-Lafitte Project continues as Command Construction upgrades the drainage capacity with semipermeable concrete on St. Peter Street. The surface, which will allow water to flow through it into the drainage system, will help alleviate flooding in the neighborhood.

MID-CITY GROUP A CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES WITH ROADWAY AND SIDEWALK WORK

The Mid-City Group A project was designed by Infinity Engineering and is being constructed by Hard Rock Construction, LLC.  The entire project was originally scheduled to be complete this fall; however, additional scope has been added. All work is now anticipated to be complete in spring 2021.  Crews are continuing roadway and sidewalk work between Jeff Davis Parkway and Carrollton Avenue.

CONVENTION CENTER BOULEVARD CONSTRUCTION

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is currently reconstructing Convention Center Boulevard between Poydras and Henderson streets in the Warehouse District. The construction is part of the $557M Convention Center Development District Project that includes converting Convention Center Boulevard into a landscaped public park.

CREWS ADJUST SCHEDULE ON THE FRERET GROUP A PROJECT TO PROVIDE IMMEDIATE ACCESS AROUND HOSPITAL

Hard Rock Construction crews under the guidance of the Department of Public Works and in collaboration with Ochsner Healthcare Systems, Baptist Campus, adjusted the Freret Group A  project schedule to ensure that all work around the hospital was expedited to accommodate the changing needs of the hospital and community. Crews have so far completed roadway operations on both Willow and Cadiz streets surrounding the hospital. All work was done in accordance with Centers for Disease (CDC) guidelines for COVID-19.

Continuing our infrastructure work during this trying time for our city is absolutely essential. Public safety is always our priority – with hurricane season on the horizon as well as deadlines for our FEMA and HUD dollars – and so we must push forward for as long as we safely and responsibly can.
