The Department of Public Works (DPW), Command Construction Industries, LLC, and the Louisiana Department of Transportation (LADOTD) continue to prepare for work along Downman Road as part of the $6.4M Viavant-Lake Catherine Group C project.  Work on Downman Road will require a temporary traffic shift; residents and businesses will be notified in advance.

Durr Heavy Construction continues to make progress on the Village De L’est Group C project. This month, crews are working on North Nemours Street and will remain in the area through early spring. Work on this street includes roadway excavation, water, sewer and drainage line installations, and sidewalk restoration. Water line tie-ins are expected to begin in March.

This month the contractor continued waterline installations, tie-ins and repairs on the Lower Ninth Ward South Group A infrastructure improvement project. Crews continued waterline work throughout the project including on Urquhart Street.

Wallace C. Drennan, Inc. crews are more than 75 percent complete with the Lower Ninth Ward Northwest Group B project.  Crews continue waterline installations and tie-ins, and they have completed a substantial amount of the concrete pours along Reynes Street. Weekend work will continue through February in an effort to move the project into substantial completion by spring 2021.

Fleming Construction Co., LLC crews, in close collaboration with the Sewerage and Water Board New Orleans, continue water line tie-ins throughout the Lower Ninth Ward Northeast Group B infrastructure improvement project area. Crews tied the new water lines into the community’s existing water supply on Tonti, North Rocheblave, St. Maurice and Tupelo streets in January/February. Residents will continue to be notified of work that will impact vehicular access and / or cause disruptions to their utilities.
