A recent inspection of several New Orleans East bridges revealed the structures are not safe for vehicular traffic. In response, the City has closed the bridges to allow a licensed engineer to assess the conditions of each bridge and prepare engineering plans to repair the bridges.

The City’s construction contractor, Barriere Construction Co., LLC is currently 50 percent done repaving the roadways within Joe W. Brown Memorial Park. The $1.2M construction project is the second of three projects planned in the park.

Command Construction Industries, LLC crews have completed 15 percent of the Read Boulevard West Group A Project construction. This is the first of two projects planned in the neighborhood.

Hard Rock Construction, LLC crews have completed 45 percent of the FEMA-funded Read Boulevard East Group A Project. This is the first of six construction projects planned to improve the infrastructure in the Read Boulevard East neighborhood, which spans Read Boulevard, I-10, I-510 and Chef Menteur Highway.

The Department of Public Works’ construction contractor, Hard Rock Construction, LLC, has now completed 65 percent of the first of three planned FEMA-funded construction projects in the Village de L’est neighborhood.
