The $18.2M Pines Village Group A infrastructure improvement project, which broke ground in January 2020, continues to make progress toward its completion. Designed by All South Consulting Engineers, Inc., the project is being constructed by Wallace C. Drennan, Inc. The contractor continues to focus on finishing water main installations on East Laverne Street, Stemway Drive, Morrison Road west of Downman Road, Jordan Road and Pines Boulevard. Asphalt removal and replacement is taking place in the 5800 block Dwyer, along with concrete removal and replacement in the 6200 – 6300 blocks or Morrison. Roadway excavation, sidewalk and driveway apron removal will begin in the coming months on the 6900-7100 blocks of Virgilian and the 5900-6200 blocks of Dorothea. The entire project is expected to be completed in summer 2021.

- Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb-to-curb;
- Patching the roadway with asphalt;
- Repairing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons;
- Installing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections; and
- Replacing/ repairing damaged underground water, sewer and/ or drainage lines.
