While crews were completing a sewer point repair in the St. Ann intersection last year during the Bourbon Phase 2 project, the condition of the sewer line prompted an additional assessment between Dauphine and Bourbon. The results indicated that the block needed a full reconstruction. Like the sequence for Bourbon Phase 2, Entergy Gas and Entergy Electric completed their work in advance of the city’s project.
The city’s contractor, Hard Rock Construction, began their work in January. Crews have already installed a new, upsized 24-inch drain line on one side of the street and are currently working on the new sewer line. Remaining work includes completing the new sewer line, water line, drain line on the other side of the street, roadway restoration and new sidewalks.
The entire project is scheduled to be completed in late June / early July 2020. The roadway will remain closed to vehicular traffic throughout construction.
