This month, Beverly Construction Co. crews have reached 23 percent completion as part of the St. Bernard Group A. RoadworkNOLA and the contractor have worked with the nursing facility to ensure driveway access at all times.
Toward the middle of this month, crews will pour new, smooth roads on Jumonville Street and finish curb work on Harrison Avenue.
We will continue our efforts to reduce as many residential inconveniences as possible. Residents will continue to be informed ahead of any work that will involve utility disruption and / or impact their parking and access to their streets. The entire project is anticipated to be wrapped up in fall 2021.
The scope of this $4.4M Gulf Engineers and Consultants (GEC)-designed project includes patch, mill, overlay and incidental road repairs. The project varies by block but includes:
- Resurfacing the roadway with asphalt or concrete;
- Repairing damaged curbs;
- Repairing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons;
- Installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps at intersections;
- Replacing/repairing damaged underground water, and drainage lines; and
- Repairing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons.
Details of this project were first made available at a public pre-construction public meeting. View a copy of the meeting presentation from September 8, 2020, here. For more information about this project and other upcoming work, please visit roadwork.nola.gov or call 504.658.ROAD (7623).
