City of New Orleans contractor Hard Rock Construction, LLC is awaiting final approval from FEMA, the Department of Public Works and the Sewerage Water Board of New Orleans to proceed with design and plan changes as part of the Lakeview South Group A project.
Pending the final approval, additional scope will be added to improve drainage on Kenilworth and Louisville streets. Construction on these elements would begin within 30 days of the final approval.
The $5.9M Patch, Mill, Overlay and Incidental Road Repair project is designed to remove damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replace it with new, smooth pavement. The project was designed by Richard C. Lambert Consultants, LLC.
The scope of work varies block by block but includes the following:
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replacing it with new smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replacing it with new smooth pavement.
Construction activity is 37 percent complete and the overall project (including design) is 51 percent complete. Details of the construction sequencing and timeline were first made available at the pre-construction public meeting.
