Fleming Construction is assembling semi-permeable interlocking bricks and bioswales along Press Drive that will help absorb storm water and slow down flooding in the Pontchartrain Park community as part of the Pontilly Neighborhood Stormwater Project.

Green alleyways and more stormwater lots are also under construction in the neighborhood with the project approximately 60 percent complete. The “gray-green” infrastructure project is scheduled to be finished in fall 2020.

The $15M Pontilly Neighborhood Stormwater Network extends from Stephen Girard Avenue to Southern University at New Orleans. A pre-construction community meeting was held in February 2019 at Mary D. Coghill Elementary School.
