Construction is progressing well on the Fleur de Lis Phase III project in the West End neighborhood, though inclement weather has added a couple weeks to the project schedule. Command Construction Industries, LLC crews have nearly completed installing the water line in the traditionally north bound travel lane between 30th St. and Old Hammond Hwy.
The water line is being placed in the same trench that previously housed the sewer force main. Full closure of the north bound travel lane is currently in effect as two-way traffic is diverted onto the traditionally southbound travel lane.
Following water line installation, an additional crew will begin installing the new sewer pipes.
The $12M project was awarded to Command Construction Industries, LLC. The scope of work includes:
- Removing and replacing the underground water, sewer and drainage lines;
- Repaving the roadway; and
- Installing new sidewalks and Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
The project is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2018.
