Construction is slated to begin in July on the full reconstruction of the 800 and 900 blocks of Taft Place. The scope of work for the $2.3M FEMA-funded project includes repairing sewer, water, and drainage lines; rebuilding the street entirely; repairing sidewalks and curbs; and installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps.
The project, designed by ECM Consultants, Inc. and awarded to Beverly Construction, is scheduled to be complete in December 2019, weather permitting.
A pre-construction community open house will be held on Thursday, June 27 at Cabrini High School, 1400 Moss Street, New Orleans, LA 70119 at 6 p.m.
