The Pontchartrain Park Group A project has reached near completion of new waterline installation operations and house connections. Currently, Hard Rock Construction Co., LLC crews are connecting the new lines to the main waterline on the following streets: Campus Boulevard, Providence Place and Pressburg Street.
In February 2021, prior to a concrete roadway pour at Pauline Drive and Madrid Street, the Department of Public Works (DPW) and the contractor discovered a pre-existing drainage clog that has prevented crews from completing the concrete roadway pour. After extensive planning to remedy this issue, the project team was authorized to replace 3,500 feet of drainage lines. This work will need to take place prior to the continuation of roadway concrete operations on this block. Roadwork NOLA has been in contact with residents regarding updates to rectify the issue. Additionally, residents have been provided access to driveways in the interim.
This $10M project was designed by Stanley Consultants. As a full-depth reconstruction project, work varies block by block but includes:
- Repaving asphalt roadway from curb-to-curb;
- Repairing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons;
- Installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps at intersections; and
- Replacing / repairing damaged underground water, sewer, and drainage lines.
Information about this project was made available at a public pre-construction meeting on September 22, 2020. The presentation can be found here. For more information about this project and other upcoming work, please visit roadwork.nola.gov or call 504.658.ROAD (7623).
