Two FEMA-funded construction projects that will improve infrastructure in the New Orleans East are now underway. The Read Boulevard East Group A project is being constructed by Hard Rock Construction, LLC. Crews have placed traffic control safety signage and barrels on site and are now excavating the roadway. Command Construction Industries, LLC crews have been saw cutting sites that will soon be excavated. Excavation of the roadway and some sidewalks began last week. View the work planned in the Read Boulevard West Group A project area here.
The scope varies by block but includes the following types of work:
- Patch Mill / Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repairing damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replacing it with new smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replacing it with new smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
