Last month, Hard Rock Construction crews completed paving work on various blocks on the $6.3M Mid-City Group A infrastructure and road improvement project. The completion of these areas accounted for 92 percent of the originally contracted paving work. Crews continue street rehabilitation work and are expected to begin sewer line work later this month based upon the findings of recent closed-circuit television (CCTV) testing.
The community will continue to be informed ahead of any work that will involve utility disruption and/or impact their parking and access to their streets. Residents are asked to continue to be mindful of “No Parking” signs installed prior to roadwork. Vehicles are eligible for towing if not moved within 24 hours of signs being placed.
This project was designed by Infinity Engineering and is being constructed by Hard Rock Construction, LLC. The entire project was originally scheduled to be complete this fall; however, additional scope has moved the completion until summer 2021.
The scope for the project varies by block, but includes the following types of work:
- Patch Mill/Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repairing damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replacing it with new smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replacing it with new smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
