The City of New Orleans has secured $16.3M for construction of the Mirabeau Water Garden to begin winter 2019.

The health and safety of the community will always be our priority as we continue to design and construct innovative, green infrastructure projects like the proposed Mirabeau Water Garden.

We have heard and responded to the calls of residents inquiring about maintenance of the area;  the grass has been cut on the perimeter and the interior.

Once complete, this project will:

•   Divert water from the municipal drainage / pumping system
•   Improve air, water and soil quality
•   Reduce flood risks for surrounding properties
•   Reduce urban heat with an increased tree canopy
•   Store up to 11 million gallons of storm water
