The $7.3M St. Claude Group C project is a full depth reconstruction project that began in March 2020. The project was designed by Rahman & Associates Inc. and is being constructed by Durr Heavy Construction, LLC. Click here to view a map of the planned work.
Montegut Street continues to see major progress as new water and sewer lines are replaced and the street is reconstructed. As work on Montegut nears completion, the contractor will prepare to move on to other roadways in the project, including Port Street. The project’s scope of work varies by block but includes the following types of work:
- Patch Mill/Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repair damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replace it with new smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replace it with new smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
The City of New Orleans hosted a virtual community meeting via WebEx in April 2020 to discuss anticipated impacts to the community. View a copy of the presentation here. To be added to the project contact list and track our progress, visit roadwork.nola.gov.
