The $9.1M Navarre Group A project, which began construction in February 2020, continues to move forward as scheduled. Contractor Hard Rock Construction Co., LLC has completed waterline tie-ins and drainage work ahead of asphalt installation on the 5500 and 5600 blocks of Catina Street. Crews are moving to General Diaz Street following the completion of paving on Catina Street in early October. Significant progress on the project was made during the summer of 2021 and work is nearing 90% completion – the project is expected to finalize in fall 2021, weather permitting. Coordination is ongoing with residents to ensure that site clean-up and final, punch list items are addressed by the contractor before the project is completed.

- Full Reconstruction: Repairing sewage, water, and drainage line, rebuild the street entirely, and repair sidewalks and curbs:
- Patch Mill/Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repair damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replace it with new smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replace it with new smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
The City of New Orleans hosted a public community meeting in January 2020 to discuss anticipated impacts. View a copy of the presentation here. For more information about this project and other upcoming work, please visit roadwork.nola.gov or call 504.658.ROAD (7623).
