City of New Orleans contractor Roubion Shoring & Construction crews were given the green light to begin full depth pavement replacement on Acacia Street. FEMA approved this necessary addition to the original scope of work on the Gentilly Terrace Group A project in September. Work is set to begin in October.
Crews are working in the area bounded by Gentilly Boulevard and Interstate 610. The project is 97 percent complete and on schedule to be wrapped up by late fall 2018.
This $2.2 million project includes the following types of work:
- Patch Mill / Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repairing damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replacing them with new, smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replacing them with new, smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
The City hosted a pre-construction public meeting to discuss the project’s construction sequencing and anticipated impacts. View a copy of the public meeting presentation here.
