The Department of Public Works’ construction contractor Hard Rock Construction, LLC is now 95 percent finished with the first of three planned FEMA-funded construction projects in the Village de L’est neighborhood.
All sidewalks southwest of Charmes Court at Lourdes Street are complete, pending the installation of an Americans with Disabilities (ADA)-compliant ramp along Lourdes Street.
The scope of work for this project varies depending on the condition of the roadway surface and underground utilities. View the project map here to see what work is planned on your block. The type of work planned varies by block but will include the following:
- Patch Mill / Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repairing damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replacing them with new, smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replacing them with new, smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
