City of New Orleans contractor Roubion Shoring & Construction crews have currently completed 93 percent of the Gentilly Terrace Group A project. Crews recently completed work on Myrtle, Acacia, and Jonquil streets ahead of schedule and are now working in the area bounded by Gentilly Boulevard and Interstate 610 (see project map here).
Last month, crews successfully completed patching and milling on schedule, allowing time for additional scopes to be considered on several blocks. The project is scheduled to be completed by November 2018.
This $2.2M project includes the following types of work:
- Patch Mill / Overlay: Repaving the asphalt roadway from curb to curb and repairing damaged sidewalks;
- Patch Concrete: Removing damaged portions of the concrete roadway and replacing them with new, smooth concrete pavement;
- Incidental Road Repairs: Removing damaged portions of the asphalt roadway and replacing them with new, smooth pavement; and
- Non-Paving Incidentals: Repairing damaged sidewalks, driveway aprons and curbs within the public right-of-way.
The City hosted a pre-construction public meeting to discuss the project’s construction sequencing and anticipated impacts. View a copy of the presentation here.
