The Hollygrove, Leonidas Group A project continues to make progress. Additional sewer line issues were identified, and crews began making those repairs in early February. In addition to laying new wearing course (upper layer in the roadway) layers of asphalt throughout the project area, Drennan Construction Industries, LLC completed the intersection work required at Birch and Cambronne streets. Excavation operations continued, along with forming new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps at intersections.

On January 21, 2021, Mayor Cantrell alongside District D Councilman Broussett and District C Councilwoman Kristin Palmer visited Bayou St. John, Fairgrounds, Seventh Ward Group B’s LePage Street to break ground on the $23M infrastructure improvement  project. This month, Barriere construction crews began drainage work and are expected to begin test closures in preparation for future water line tie-ins next month. Crews are also working on roadway and sidewalk restoration work.

Hard Rock Construction Co., LLC crews broke ground on the $13.6M Broadmoor Group A project in December 2020.  This month, in close collaboration with the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, crews began water line test closures throughout the project. These test closures are in preparation for future water line tie-ins. Crews are also working on roadway and sidewalk restoration. The community will continue to be informed ahead of any work that will involve utility disruption and / or impact their parking and access to their streets.  Residents are asked to continue to be mindful of “No Parking” signs installed prior to roadwork. Vehicles are eligible for towing if not moved within 24 hours of signs being placed.

Command Construction Industries, LLC crews are wrapping up construction and paving on all major streets that border the Hagan Lafitte Drainage project.

On December 29, 2020, Mayor Cantrell and other ciy leaders kicked off the City Park Group A infrastructure improvement project on Dumaine Street. Fleming Construction Co., LLC crews recently completed main sewer line replacements in the 4000 block of Delgado Street. Crews continue to work on main sewer line replacements on the 800 block of Roosevelt Street. New sidewalks have been installed on St. Peters Street, which includes Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections.  At the end of January, crews will start sewer and water line system replacements and full-depth roadway reconstruction on St. John Court.  All residents will continue to be informed ahead of any construction work that will involve utility disruption and / or impact their parking and access to their street and driveways.
