Last month, Command Construction crews performed water line tie-ins and repairs on the Lower Ninth Ward South Group A project. This month, crews completed water line work along Tennessee Street and will continue utility work in this area.
Residents in the area will be notified of work that will impact their access and/or cause disruption to their utilities. Roadwork NOLA will also notify residents in advance of any extended day or weekend work that may be necessary.
This $7.6M project was designed by IMS Engineers and is being constructed by Command Construction Industries, LLC.
This is a patch, mill, overlay with incidental road repair and work varies block by block to include:
- Replacing damaged underground water, sewer and drainage lines;
- Repaving the roadway;
- Replacing damaged sidewalks and driveway aprons; and
- Installing Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
The City of New Orleans hosted a virtual community meeting via WebEx in July 2020 to discuss anticipated impacts to the community. View a copy of the presentation here.
