Construction of the new $19.5M Wisner Bridge is nearly complete and the bridge is scheduled to reopen by the end of the month. Streetlights are being energized and a pavement striping crew is schedueld to stripe the Wisner Bridge this week. The new striping will facilitate safe travel on the bridge by vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians.

The City and State are currently reviewing responses from prospective construction contractors to refurbish the Magnolia Bridge, which crosses Bayou St. John near Cabrini High School. The contract opened for public bid in early September.

The Department of Public Works is currently working with Barriere Construction Co., LLC to improve drainage on Henry Clay Ave. between St. Charles Ave. and Hurst St.

Command Construction Industries, LLC crews are 20 percent complete with the Fleur de Lis Dr. Phase III Reconstruction Project between 30th St. and Old Hammond Hwy. in the West End neighborhood.

Roubion Roads & Streets, LLC has substantially completed the S. Johnson St. and Melodia Ct. Reconstruction Project in the Marlyville-Fontainebleau neighborhood. With street repairs completed and the roadway reopened to vehicular traffic crews focus on seeding and fertilizing the project’s green space. A final inspection is set for early October.
