VIAVANT-LAKE CATHERINE GROUP C ANTICIPATES TRAFFIC CONTROLS AT DOWNMAN ROAD

The $6.4M Viavant-Lake Catherine Group C project broke ground in July 2020. Designed by All South Consulting Engineers, LLC the project is being constructed by Command Construction Industries, LLC. This month, the contractor continued road construction at Industrial Parkway and Old Gentilly Road. Through close collaboration with the Department of Public Works (DPW), the contractor began planning for work along Downman Road that will require a temporary traffic shift. This work is slated to begin in late-January and residents and businesses will be notified before work starts.

WORK ON VILLAGE DE L’EST GROUP C PROJECT RESUMES

Durr Heavy Construction resumed work on the Village De L’est Group C project this month after a brief pause due to issues discovered during the excavation process. This month, crews began work on North Nemours Street and will remain in the area through early spring. Work on this street includes roadway excavation, water, sewer and drainage line installations, and sidewalk restoration. The project is expected to be completed in summer 2021, weather permitting.

WATER LINE WORK CONTINUES TO PROGRESS ON LOWER NINTH WARD SOUTH GROUP A

This month the contractor continued water line installations, tie-ins and repairs on the Lower Ninth Ward South Group A infrastructure improvement project Residents in the area will be notified of work that will impact vehicular access and / or cause disruptions to their utilities. RoadworkNOLA will also notify residents in advance of any extended day or weekend work that may be necessary.

LOWER NINTH WARD NORTHWEST GROUP B CONTINUES TO WORK WEEKENDS TO REMAIN ON SCHEDULE

Wallace C. Drennan, Inc. crews continue to work weekends to remain on schedule on the Lower Ninth Ward Northwest Group B project.  Crews continue water line installations and tie-ins and have completed a substantial amount of the concrete pours along Reynes Street. Weekend work will continue with special considerations taken during the holidays.

WATER LINE TIE-INS COMPLETED THROUGHOUT THE LOWER NINTH WARD NORTHEAST GROUP B PROJECT

Fleming Construction Co., LLC crews, in close collaboration with the Sewerage and Water Board New Orleans, completed water line tie-ins throughout the Lower Ninth Ward Northeast Group B infrastructure improvement project area. Crews tied the new water lines into the community’s existing water supply on Tonti, North Rocheblave, St. Maurice and Tupelo streets in December and January. More tie-ins are scheduled this month. Residents will continue to be notified of work that will impact vehicular access and / or cause disruptions to their utilities.
