The Department of Public Works’ construction contractor, Hard Rock Construction, LLC will demobilize construction crews from the Desire Group A project area within the next 30-days as part of the reorganization of the Capital Improvement Program.

Award of the Filmore North Group A construction contract continues to be delayed due to a contract protest. Construction is no longer anticipated to begin this fall, it is likely to begin in 2019.

The City of New Orleans, Department of Public Works and Sewerage & Water Board began a full reconstruction project on Bourbon Street from St. Louis to Dumaine streets (500-800 blocks) on September 17, 2018. Work is occuring sequentially from the 500 – 800 blocks, with ONLY one block fenced off at a time throughout construction.  All businesses along this corridor are open and accessible throughout construction. 

Durr Heavy Construction, LLC crews are currently working in the Algiers Point neighborhood and using a portion of the batture area as a staging and laydown yard. The staging area is contractually required to be returned to its original condition at the conclusion of construction.

Roubion Roads and Streets, LLC construction crews are currently 95 percent complete repairing damaged concrete panels on Berkeley Drive between Sullen Place and Bennett Street. Construction crews continue to excavate existing panels and frame portions of the roadway for weekly concrete placements.
