Barriere Construction, in close collaboration with the City of New Orleans and Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, are working together to restore damaged infrastructure in Central City as part of the Central City Group A project.  In December, crews began water line work while continuing sewer work on South Derbigny Street (First Street to Josephine Street), South Rocheblave Street (Toledano Street to Martin Luther King Boulevard) and First Street (Loyola Avenue to South Liberty Street).  

Hard Rock Construction Co., in close collaboration with the City of New Orleans and Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, are working together to restore damaged infrastructure in the Freret neighborhood as part of the Freret Group A infrastructure improvement project.  The construction project is scheduled to be substantially complete in January 2021, upon completion of drainage and water line work on Upperline Street.

This month’s work on the  $6.3M Mid-City Group A infrastructure and road improvement project included completion of sidewalk repairs, curb and gutter work.  Crews also completed some street rehabilitation work and are expected to begin sewer line work later this month based upon the findings of recent closed-circuit television (CCTV) testing.

Barriere Construction crews worked weekends during November to remain on schedule on the $9.1M Central City Group A project. Crews will continue sewer work on S. Derbigny (First Street to Josephine Street), S. Rocheblave (Toledano Street to Martin Luther King Boulevard) and First Street (Loyola Avenue to S. Liberty Street).  Residents will continue to be informed ahead of any work that will involve utility disruption and/or impact their parking and access to their streets..

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center has been reconstructing Convention Center Boulevard between Poydras and Henderson streets in the Warehouse District. The construction project, which is now substantially complete, is part of the $557M Convention Center Development District Project that included converting Convention Center Boulevard into a landscaped public park. The contractor is finishing up a few details this month.
