Wallace C. Drennan, Inc. crews continue to work weekends to remain on schedule on the Lower Ninth Ward Northwest Group B project.  Crews continue water line installations and tie-ins and have completed a substantial amount of the concrete pours along Reynes Street. Weekend work will continue with special considerations taken during the holidays.

Fleming Construction Co., LLC crews, in close collaboration with the Sewerage and Water Board New Orleans, completed water line tie-ins throughout the Lower Ninth Ward Northeast Group B infrastructure improvement project area. Crews tied the new water lines into the community’s existing water supply on Tonti, North Rocheblave, St. Maurice and Tupelo streets in December and January. More tie-ins are scheduled this month. Residents will continue to be notified of work that will impact vehicular access and / or cause disruptions to their utilities.

This month, Command Construction Industries, LLC crews, in close collaboration with the Sewerage and Water Board New Orleans, resumed water line work on the Little Woods Group A infrastructure improvement project. In addition to water line work, the Department of Public Works (DPW) and its inspectors continued pre-pour inspections. These inspections ensure everything is properly constructed prior to placement of the final layer of concrete or asphalt. Roadway paving operations are set to be completed this month, including the areas of Lake Carmel, Lehigh, Morrison and Yardley streets.

The Read Boulevard Group D project made more strides toward substantial completion. This month crews worked weekends in an effort to continue progress. Beverly Construction Co. began work on this $3.3M infrastructure improvement project in March 2020 and plan to wrap up all construction in February 2021.

Palmisano Construction crews, working closely with the Department of Public Works, began the final walkthroughs on the Read East Boulevard Group C project. After paving operations are complete, crews will complete the inspections needed to certify this project as complete by February 2021.
